About T-Mobile

T-Mobile International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world.  Headquartered in Germany, Deutsche Telekom has nearly 120 million customers worldwide.  In December 1999, it established T-Mobile International, which has become one of the largest international mobile communications carriers.  As of 2007 106 million customers are served by T-Mobile worldwide.

T-Mobile International operates in Germany, the United States, Great Britain, Austria, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovena, and Slovakia.  In Germany, Austria, Great Britain, and the Netherlands, T-Mobile employees are represented by trade or labor unions.

T-Mobile in the U.S. 

Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, T-Mobile USA provides wireless service to 28.7 million Americans.  Within T-Mobile USA, none of the 36,000 workers it currently employs have been able to successfully organize into a union.  T-Mobile USA produced 25% of the total operating revenue for Deutsche Telekom in 2008.

T-Mobile in Germany

T-Mobile in Germany is the largest wireless provider in the country, servicing 34.5 million customers. The company employs 5,330 workers, who are all represented by Ver.di, the German telecommunications labor union.  Ver.di also represents all other Deutsche Telekom employees in Germany, and as such, in accordance with German law, members of Ver.di sit on the Board of Directors of Deutsche Telecom.
